Peer Review Policy
All manuscripts submitted to the Proceedings of the International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC Proceedings) undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness, quality, and academic integrity. Neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other’s identities during review.
Review Process
Initial Screening
The Editorial Board conducts an initial assessment to ensure the submission aligns with the conference theme, aims, and scope, adheres to formatting and ethical standards, and passes plagiarism detection using similarity-checking software.
Double-Blind Review
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. Editors and reviewers with any conflict of interest are excluded from the process.
Reviewer Criteria
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
-
Originality and significance of the contribution.
-
Clarity and coherence of writing.
-
Theoretical framework, methodology, and use of evidence.
-
Relevance to the performing arts and alignment with the annual conference theme.
Recommendations
Reviewers may recommend:
-
Acceptance as submitted,
-
Acceptance with minor or major revisions,
-
Resubmission for further review, or
-
Rejection.
Review Timeframe
The typical review period is 4–6 weeks from the date of assignment. Authors are notified once all reviews are received and evaluated by the Editorial Board.
Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ reports and the overall quality of the submission. Authors required to revise must resubmit within the specified deadline.
Appeals and Complaints
Authors who wish to appeal a decision may submit a written request to the Editor-in-Chief with justification. Appeals are reviewed by the Editorial Board to ensure procedural fairness.
Ethical Standards
All reviewers must follow the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers, maintaining confidentiality, objectivity, and transparency throughout the process.
Conflicts of interest must be declared immediately to the Editorial Board.
