Journal History

The Proceedings of the International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC) was first established in 2014 under Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Since its inception, the conference and its proceedings have served as a scholarly platform for researchers, artists, and practitioners in music, dance, and the performing arts.

Publication Timeline:

  • 2014Proceedings of the 1st International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC 2014) published (eBook format).

  • 2016Proceedings of the 2nd International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC 2016) published.

  • 2018Proceedings of the 3rd International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC 2018) published.

  • 2020 – Conference postponed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

  • 2022Proceedings of the 4th International Music and Performing Arts Conference (IMPAC 2022) published.

  • 2023 – Transition to annual publication and launch of the eProceedings website, marking the beginning of the digital series:

    2. Proceedings of the International Music and Performing Arts Conference, Vol. 2 (2024)

    3. Proceedings of the International Music and Performing Arts Conference, Vol. 3 (2025)

The proceedings are peer-reviewed, published annually, and assigned eISSN/eISBN identifiers. All publications are managed and hosted by Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) under the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.
