Mengenalpasti identiti Broadway dalam mempengaruhi gaya persembahan dalam teater muzikal Melayu moden di Malaysia terutamanya aspek struktur dan lagu serta kesan terhadap industri seni pertunjukan tempatan. Kajian berbentuk kualitatif ini menekankan pendekatan pemerhatian dan temu bual secara khusus kepada penggiat dan pakar bidang bagi mendapatkan gaya persembahan yang dipengaruhi oleh bentuk persembahan Broadway. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa pengaruh Broadway telah memberikan sumbangan yang signifikan terhadap pengembangan teater muzikal Melayu Moden di Malaysia. Elemen-elemen naratif yang lebih kompleks, muzik yang pelbagai genre dan struktur persembahan yang dinamik telah menjadi ciri-ciri yang penting dalam produksi teater muzikal Melayu moden di Malaysia Implikasi daripada penulisan ini memberi peluang untuk terus mengembangkan industri teater muzikal tempatan dengan memanfaatkan pengajaran-pengajaran dari Broadway tanpa mengabaikan keunikan budaya dan identiti Malaysia dalam seni pertunjukan. Perdebatan mengenai pengaruh Broadway dalam konteks teater muzikal Melayu moden di Malaysia kurang diperdebatkan dan sentiasa dipengaruhi oleh gaya dan ciri-ciri produksi Broadway turut memperlihatkan elemen gaya persembahan yang menunjukkan bahawa ia ini telah mengalami transformasi dalam konteks gaya persembahan teater muzikal Melayu moden tempatan. Data hasil kajian dapat menjana sebuah struktur persembahan yang khusus dan boleh dijadikan sebagai panduan jelas untuk membangunkan sebuah teater muzikal Melayu dengan lebih tersusun dan kemas serta dapat menerapkan ciri-ciri budaya tempatan yang lebih efektif.
Identifying the Influence of Broadway Identity on Performance Style in Modern Malay Musical Theater in Malaysia, Particularly in Terms of Structure and Music, and Its Impact on the Local Performing Arts Industry. This qualitative study emphasizes an observational and interview approach, specifically targeting practitioners and experts in the field, to identify the performance styles influenced by Broadway productions. The findings of the study indicate that Broadway's influence has made a significant contribution to the development of Modern Malay Musical Theater in Malaysia. More complex narrative elements, diverse musical genres, and dynamic performance structures have become key characteristics in modern Malay musical theater productions in Malaysia. The implications of this writing offer opportunities to further develop the local musical theater industry by leveraging lessons from Broadway while preserving the uniqueness of Malaysia's culture and identity in the performing arts. The debate on Broadway's influence within the context of modern Malay musical theater in Malaysia is less discussed, yet the influence of Broadway's style and production characteristics has been evident. These performance elements demonstrate that there has been a transformation in the performance style of modern Malay musical theater. The study's data can generate a specific performance structure that serves as a clear guide for developing Malay musical theater in a more organized and refined manner, effectively incorporating local cultural elements.
